Bring Girls Inc. to your local community
Process for Bringing a Girls Inc. Affiliate to Your Community
The Girls Inc. Network is comprised of seventy-five affiliated nonprofit organizations, each incorporated as charitable entities in adherence to the regulations in their US state or Canadian province.
To begin your exploration process, find out whether there is already an existing Girls Inc. Affiliate in your community by visiting here. Our Affiliates are constantly growing and expanding, so even if there isn’t an Affiliate in your community now, we may be able to explore working with an Affiliate in a close neighboring community to support your efforts.
If there is not a Girls Inc. Affiliate in your community, or located near you, please reach out directly to Deb Hopkins, Director of Affiliate Services & Expansion if you can answer yes to any of the following statements:
- I represent an independent girl-serving organization that is interested in exploring how we might transition to become a Girls Inc. Affiliate.
- I represent a mission-aligned nonprofit organization that is interested in launching a Girls Inc. Department under the umbrella of our larger organization.
- I am prepared to launch a Girls Inc. Affiliate by forming a board of directors, filing articles of incorporation, and securing nonprofit charitable status within my state or province.
Testimonials
Virginia Akar, CEO Girls Inc. of Greater Miami
“I spent more than a year researching girl-serving organizations around the country with the goal of bringing one to Miami, the city I grew up in, and a city that my research confirmed needed an organization where girls could safely, confidently, and joyfully discover their inner strengths while also learning to lean on each other instead of competing with one another. When I found Girls Inc., I had my answer. Girls Inc. had a track record of impact, and a deep understanding of the varying needs of girls. Their model demanded excellence, and that’s exactly what I was looking for. In 2017, we launched Strong Girls Inc., always with the goal of becoming a Girls Inc. Affiliate. Three years later, Strong Girls Inc. proudly became Girls Inc. of Greater Miami, the first Girls Inc. Affiliate in South Florida.”
Aleya Crable Jennings, Chair of Girls Inc. of Greater Pittsburgh Board of Directors
