Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta take on the FIFA World Cup 26™ with the Atlanta United Soccer Clinic hosted by Coca-Cola

The FIFA World Cup 26™ is an opportunity to celebrate sportsmanship, community, and confidence both in and outside of sports. On May 16th, Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta joined in on the festivities through the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola where they learned the history of the World Cup through interactive exhibits, engaged in on-field soccer training, and talked to iconic former soccer players. We asked these girls to share their experiences and key highlights from their day.
Jaelyn L. shared how she was inspired to step outside of her comfort zone: “The clinic and Trophy Tour was eye-opening. The experience encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone since I play sports where I primarily use my hands. Thank you so much for allowing me to embark on such a phenomenal experience, I was honored in meeting the ‘Big, Bald Wall’ Brad Guzan and Barcelona’s most successful leader, Charles Puyol.”
Neyah A. was excited to discuss the hands-on exposure she gained in both soccer and career development: “The clinic was enjoyable and active. I had a lot of fun participating in different soccer activities. One thing I learned was how to approach and answer sport media conference questions. My favorite memory was when we played ‘Around the World.’ We had to partner up with someone and make a goal while yelling out a country we chose. It was exciting and made being there even more fun. This experience helped me grow because it got me out of my comfort zone. Being active and participating in these activities encouraged me to try new things. Thank you for this great experience that I will always remember!”
Ananya A. described the unique opportunities the clinic presented: “This experience was out of this world! I learned the importance of teamwork during different activities throughout the day. A couple of highlights include having the opportunity to meet Brad Guzan and Carles Puyol and personally ask them about a time that shaped their career during the mini panel. I also was able to view the FIFA World Cup 26™ Trophy, something that was a very special opportunity for me. The clinic allowed me to grow my ability to be a team member in an athletic setting. I’m extremely thankful for the chance to go through the clinic.”
The clinic and Trophy Tour offered more than just a day of soccer—it provided a meaningful opportunity for girls to see themselves as leaders, athletes, and changemakers. Thank you to Jaelyn, Neyah, and Ananya for sharing your experience!
