Teacher Appreciation Week, celebrated May 4-8, is a time to recognize educators like program facilitators who guide, support, and inspire us to be strong, smart, and bold every day. Girls Inc. Brand Ambassador’s shared how their educators have supported and guided them — and the meaningful advice that has shaped their journeys. 

“One of the most meaningful pieces of advice Ms. Becky has given me is to walk into every room with confidence and to always make time for self-care,” says Belen, a Brand Ambassador from Girls Inc. of San Diego, “This guidance has shifted my mindset when it comes to approaching new people. Because of her encouragement, I’ve learned to be more confident in my voice and more intentional about my actions. I’ve stepped into leadership roles, spoken up for causes I care about, and worked to support younger girls who are in the same position I was once in. Her advice reminded me that my voice matters and that using it can create real change in my community.”

Lauren, a Brand Ambassador from Girls Inc. of Columbus & Phenix Russell, says, “Girls Inc. has had a truly transformative impact on my life, and one person in particular who has made a lasting difference is , Ms. Danita. She has consistently encouraged me, offered meaningful guidance, and supported me every step of the way. She always reassured me that my Girls Inc. family would be there for me, and now, as an alumna, they have proven that in ways that go above and beyond. Through thoughtful messages, reminders that so many girls at my local affiliate look up to me, and her advice to always accomplish every goal I set my sights on, I am inspired to continue making decisions that positively impact others’ lives. It also motivates me to step boldly into every space I enter, knowing that I belong there, and to show the world what it means to be a Girls Inc. girl.” 

 This Teacher Appreciation Week, we celebrate those who help girls discover their strength, build confidence, and believe in their potential. Through their wisdom and unwavering support, they continue to inspire the new generation of leaders to use their voices, pursue their goals boldly, and create meaningful change in their communities.
