Girls Inc. and M·A·C VIVA GLAM Make Way for the New Generation of Healthcare Leaders

New York, New York – October 11, 2026 – M·A·C VIVA GLAM, Girls Inc., and Period Education Project (PEP) are working together to bring menstrual education and workforce development to the new generation of women healthcare leaders.

Since 2023, Girls Inc., the longest-running and premier girls’ leadership organization, has partnered with Period Education Project (PEP) to bring medically accurate, age-appropriate menstrual education workshops to over 2,500 Girls Inc. participants across the United States and Canada. Through community workshops known as PEP Rallies, medical students from diverse backgrounds provide evidence-based education that helps girls understand and navigate their menstrual cycles with confidence while also gaining the knowledge and communication skills to become more informed, compassionate future healthcare providers.

A $500,000 grant from M·A·C VIVA GLAM will evolve the partnership between Girls Inc. and PEP, connecting more girls with stigma-free support, educational resources, and career exploration opportunities.

“We are honored to partner with M·A·C VIVA GLAM to help more girls envision themselves as future healthcare professionals,” said Girls Inc. President and CEO Dr. Stephanie J. Hull. “This program recognizes that preparing girls for the workforce starts with supporting the whole girl—giving her both knowledge about her own health and meaningful opportunities to play a role in the evolution of healthcare.”

“Period Education Project believes building the future healthcare workforce starts with early exposure, giving young people the opportunity to learn about healthcare careers and see diverse professionals in those roles.” said Dr. Trish Hutchison, Period Education Project Co-Founder and Executive Director. “By combining health education with career exploration, we’re helping girls understand their health today and envision the healthcare leaders they can become tomorrow.”

“Giving back to the communities that have always supported M·A·C is at the heart of VIVA GLAM, and we are incredibly proud to welcome Girls Inc. to the family as we expand that commitment to more girls,” says Rachel Lockett, Vice President of Marketing & Consumer Engagement, MAC Cosmetics North America. “Every girl deserves access to accurate, holistic menstrual health education and the knowledge and confidence to support her health and wellbeing. We are delighted to help enhance and expand Girls Inc.’s partnership with Period Education Project, bringing culturally and linguistically responsive resources to more girls while opening their eyes to opportunities in healthcare. By helping break the stigma around periods, we can ensure more girls have the knowledge and confidence to thrive.”
