Girls Leading Change Summit

 First ever convening of girls across the Network  

Inaugural Girls Inc. Summit 

This July, Girls Inc. hosted its Girls Leading Change Summit, a first-of-its-kind convening bringing together 250 girls from more than 30 Affiliates across the United States and Canada at Washington University in St. Louis. Over the course of four days, high-school aged participants explored the connection between character and civic leadership with a focus on qualities such as emotional intelligence, critical thinking, respect, self-advocacy, confidence, and kindness.  

The Summit culminated in girls presenting a wide-range of youth-led, research-informed solutions to strengthen their schools and communities, demonstrating that they are not only preparing to lead the future—they are leading today.

She called for stronger systems of support for girls fleeing unsafe homes and experiencing teen homelessness, highlighting the urgent need for communities to provide safe pathways to stability including legal aid, housing, education, and necessary documentation.  
Meet Shreya
From Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region in NY
She proposed ways to help educators embrace AI literacy for students as an essential skill rather than restrict its use. 
Meet Sloan
From Girls Inc. of Sarasota County, FL
She advocated for including student representatives on school boards to ensure young people's perspectives help shape education policy.
