Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold sm

Girls Inc.: Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold.

I am strong because I can lift my own weight. I am smart not just because I get As. I am bold because I am not afraid to stick up for my rights.

Healthy Girls, Healthy Communities

An Interactive Map

The Girls Inc. Healthy Girls, Healthy Communities Mapping Project is a collection of maps created by Girls Inc. girls from across the United States. Girls ages 6–18 examined their neighborhoods, schools, towns, and counties to identify opportunities, barriers, and solutions around physical activity.

The maps were created as a part of Girls Inc. Girls’ Rights Week®, an annual celebration of girls advocating for their rights and positive change in the world, which was held this year from May 3-7, 2010. During this week, four Girls Inc. National Scholars met with Susan Sher, First Lady Michelle Obama’s Chief of Staff, and Jocelyn Frye, Director of Policy and Projects in the Office of the First Lady, to present the findings of this project.
