WENDY MORGAN Q&A

What made you want to work with Girls Inc. on the Dear World campaign?
I wanted to hear what girls had to say, and I wanted to help them express themselves. It was pretty empowering to work with so many women and girls. I enjoyed the experience a lot.

What was the most exciting thing that happened on the set of the Dear World TV commercial shoot?
The art department folded up several hundred paper planes and we got to watch as several of the girls and the art department threw them off the roof of the Roslyn hotel in Los Angeles. Standing at street level, waiting to see what it was going to look like was pretty exciting.

As a director you have the opportunity to shape the way people look at or understand issues. What message do you hope girls will get from the Dear World TV commercials?
I hope they’ll get the message to be brave and to aspire to whatever heights they can imagine.

Who has been your most influential role model or mentor and why does he or she inspire you?
My grandmother has been a wonderful role model to me. She really lived her life the way she wanted, she was powerful and successful and also took good care of her family.
