Dear World,
Queens, Princesses, all the way to The First Lady, growing up a girl is a remarkable journey. As children, girls are cute and lovable with the world at arms reach. Then, we grow and a burst of challenges face us as young ladies. We get categorized and labeled by our peers. Just when we are learning about ourselves, we have to challenge other who may view us differently. But, girls are remarkable creatures. We can gain strength through our challenges in life. Life is our school.
Our mothers, grandmothers, aunts and other women who influence us are our teachers. We learn from their achievements and their failures, that life is not a competition. We should unite together to grow as a whole.
As girls of all ages, we have an obligation to gain as much knowledge in everything the world has to offer. There are so many doors to open that it will take a life time for just one girl or woman to try to do it all. But, that is the greatest gift that past women have given us. We CAN try to do it all.
I have several strong women that have influenced my life. I find daily reminders of all that is at arms reach for me now and in my future. Queens, and Princesses, the First Lady and me.
Respectfully yours,
Samantha, age 16
Daughter of Janette and
Granddaughter of Jennie and Diane
Great-grand daughter of Tabita and Santos
~ Great teachers in my life ~
