The Making of Dear World
More than 275 girls from Girls Inc. centers across the United States and Canada lent their voices, wrote letters to the world, and auditioned to take part in the Girls Inc. Dear World public education campaign. Though each girl spoke of her unique loves, hates, goals, and fears, the message was undeniable: girls love being themselves, but they need all the support and empowerment the world can offer.
From among the girls who auditioned for the PSA, 42 girls from California, Florida, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Texas, and Ontario, Canada, were chosen to take part in the production of the Dear World public service announcements. After thousands of hours of research, planning, concepting, and casting, the spots were shot in Los Angeles, California, by a dedicated crew from our pro-bono agency partner, zig USA and Ruckus Films. Wendy Morgan directed with caring, respect, and a commitment to girls’ voices.
Join these girls as they send their messages celebrating girlhood.
